How do Clay Classes work?
Step 1: Get Messy!
We have a mix of one-time, 6-week, wheel, and hand building group classes that we offer. Sign up for whatever class and class time works best, and join us in the studio to get your hands on some clay while being walked through the creation process.
Step 2: Let it Dry
Once your piece has been thrown on the wheel or built by hand, it will need some time to dry out before it can go through the kiln to be fired. We’ll hold onto your clay creation and fire it once it becomes bone-dry. About two weeks after the class, your pottery should be out of the kiln.
Step 3: Come Back and Paint!
Now that the clay has hardened from being fired, it’s time to glaze! Visit our painting studio at 243 West Main Street to add some glaze to the bisque pottery and wait one more week for it to come out of the glaze kiln.
